What is the Phase II program?  Who’s involved in storm water education in Genesee County?  Find out the answers here.

About Us

The Genesee County Water Quality Consortium is a group of municipalities, school districts, county organizations, Genesee County Conservation District, and the Flint River Watershed Coalition. These committed people educate the citizens of Genesee County about ways to prevent storm water pollution.  For more information look under our Partners section.

About the Project

In 2001 the communities of Genesee County partnered together with the Genesee County Drain Commission to coordinate and apply for the required Phase II permits.

Phase II is the next step in the EPA’s effort to protect, preserve, and improve our water resources.

Phase II not only includes permitting but also education.  Educating the public is required under EPA’s Phase II program.  The Genesee County Water Quality Consortium is currently working to bring awareness, to educate, and to promote stewardship in the citizens of Genesee County.
